Joanne Benton WEF Walk

The Joanne Benton WEF Walk has become a tradition in Wilmington’s schools. The walk reinforces the Wilmington Public School’s belief in physical activity, healthy eating, nutrition and physical education for all students’ academic success.
Since the first Walk in 2009, this K-5 fitness walk has become the Wilmington Education Foundation’s largest fundraisers. Fundraising dollars support the annual STEM Fair for grades K-8 as well as for funding in the areas of Technology, Curriculum, Educator Exploration and miscellaneous program grants.
Students, kindergarten through Grade 5, are encouraged to ask family and friends to sponsor them in this walk. They are invited to wear Halloween costumes, favorite sports team shirts, or orange and black colors for the walk. Each school will conduct the walk over two days this year on Monday, October 31st during the school day. Be on the lookout for your student's times.
Sponsor sheets are distributed to students in the beginning of October. Don't have one? No problem! You can download your sponsor form by clicking this sponsor download link. Your tax-deductible donations can also be made online by clicking HERE or on the above donation icon.
